Regardless of whether you have a firsthand experience or an indirect one, you may have concluded that there are useless people in every field. This conclusion clearly shows that you firmly believe that you belong to a select group of the elite or intelligenstia. Experts do not approve of such thinking. According to them, no person on this planet is perfect. If you consider imperfect people useless, it is absolutely imperative that you should immediately do an introspection. You may have several negative habits or behaviors, and so, there is no use in pointing fingers at others. The corollary to this is that you cannot correct others' behaviors. The only course availale to you is that you have to make amends to your ways. But unfortunately, there is no napalm that can quickly help you dispense with your negative habits or behaviors. This means that you should consistently strive to improve yourself.
Once you realize that you are not a perfect person, you must start taking steps towards developing yourself. I think the following tips may help you.
1. Incorporate this step into your daily routine.
Every night and before retiring for bed, try to recollect all the happenings during the day. Run the happenings and your reactions, responses, and behaviors in your mind. Did you react, respond, or behave in the right way? There will certainly be several slips or wrong behaviors or responses. Think of the right ways you should have adopted during such situations. Embrace those ways and try to follow them in the future. Of course, this needs a lot of practice, but if you practice consistently, you can master it.
2. Take cues from the reactions of those with whom you have responded or behaved wrongly.
Reading other people's minds is difficult. But the body language or facial expressions of people will reveal a lot. So, if you see painful or not-so-pleasant responses or reactions in others with whom you interact, you should immediately realize that you have to correct your behavior.
3. Use your common sense.
It is not necessary that you should respond or react immediately to any situation. This means that you should take a pause, use your common sense, and then, react or respond. In other words, you should do a mental rehearsal of the implications of your behaviors or responses before you react. This step involves constant practice, and if you practice consistently, you can convert this into a habit.
The above suggestions do appear difficult but they are not impossible to adopt. So, keep trying and you will succeed soon.

ReplyDeleteUncle, the usage of "napalm" is wrong in this context. Please check the usage.
ReplyDeleteOne of the synonyms of the word "napalm" is "explosive." What I mean is there is no munition to help you get rid of your negative behaviors.
DeleteUncle, while what you are saying is correct, napalm is a toxic chemical weapon that burns. Think of it like a liquid fire.
DeleteNow, getting rid of negative behaviour requires self awareness, an ability to listen to feedback from reality and a desire to change and improve. All of this takes a lot of time. So no munition, let alone napalm can do the work, that one has to do oneself.
Sir, keep them coming. We have become your captive fans. May we know who inspired you to write such posts?
ReplyDeleteSir, I am an admirer of your writing, but when it comes to clarity, you are still in the amateur category? Would you like to hire my services and go pro? Here is a free tip for you - don't hide behind "experts" for everything. Just say what you want to say. Be bold. Hiding behind "experts" say this and "experts" say that is cowardly.
ReplyDeleteWho are you to say that no one is perfect? I am perfect. I am great. I am godlike. Can't you see that? Anyone who cannot see my perfection is imperfect.
ReplyDeleteI want unconditional respect. I want unconditional obedience from everyone. I am so great that even I am impressed with myself. You are imperfect. I accuse you of everything you wrote about me. I know what you accused me of is true. It brings deep shame inside me. I am shame saturated and can't handle that. So I immediately accuse you of the very evil that I do. That should shut you up.I am great. I am godlike. I command you to be my loyal fan and devotee. I am beyond responsibilities. Those are for lesser mortals. I am a greater mortal. Everything bad happening in my life is because of jealous people and because of act of God. Anything good happening anywhere in the world is because of me. I am all powerful. I have no weakness. Everyone is afraid of me. I am a genius. I am a buffoon. I am stupid. Stupid people do things that neither benefits them nor benefits others. All my great decisions, I do not know if one person who is happy because of them. Even I am not happy. I guess that makes me stupid. I am greatly stupid. Or is it stupidly great?
